My Daily Brain Health Checklist

  • Just thought I would share my daily brain health checklist. There are 10 things on this list and I try to do at least 7 of them everyday. Sometimes I fall off the wagon but this is a marathon and not a sprint. Tomorrow is a new day. What are you doing for your health?
    • Drink 80 plus ounces of water daily
    • Eat organic and non GMO foods, including several servings of fruits and vegetables a day (eat the rainbow)
    • Start my day with a glass of water and vitamin D (sunshine) for 20 minutes
    • Eliminate as many toxins from my environment and my brain as possible
    • Detox my body daily
    • Exercise daily (at least 2 daily)
    • Walk 2-3miles a day
    • Water aerobics
    • Line Dancing or Dancing
    • Golf
  • Sleep 8-9 hours a night
  • Nap for 30-60 minutes a day
  • Play my Brain HQ game
  • Meditate
  • Take my medications and supplements which help cognitive decline
    • Aricept
    • Phosphatidyl Serine
    • MCT Oil
    • Reservatrol
    • Coconut Oil
  • Try to minimize my stress by being grateful for what I can do and not what I can’t. I try not to fret about things that are out of my control.
  • Socialize as much as possible; when my Mom got Alzheimer’s her only hobby prior to that was reading. Her doctor told me that was part of her downfall. My doctor says I need to use all segments of my brain which I try to do daily.
  • Communicate through prayer with God and do good deeds through my volunteer activities (also great for socialization)

Focusing on my brain health has become my full time focus, but it is a great investment of my time. The things mentioned above are important for everyone to do, regardless of your cognitive abilities. Best of luck in improving your health!
